It provides products and solutions to the banking, telecommunications, oil & gas, insurance, retail, manufacturing and pharmaceutical industries and boasts expertise in its activity-based management, anti-money laundering, business intelligence, IT management, regulatory compliance and risk management knowledge.

Job description
Our multinational client seeks to bring on board a senior level (5+PQE) lawyer to be based out of the Istanbul office. This will be your first legal hire in the region and will report into the General Counsel based in the US.

Although Istanbul based, this role will cover business interests across the North Africa and Turkey including Morocco, Algeria, Tunesia, Senegal, Ivory Coast and Cameroon. The individual will liaise closely with the sales teams negotiating and concluding software license agreements with customers. A small fraction of the senior legal counsel's time will also be spent on more general in-house legal matters such as personnel issues, corporate records and import/export matters. For specialist areas of advice the legal counsel will have support from the US.

Who we are looking for

Strong interpersonal skills are important as he/she will be working closely with the sales teams and customers.

The ideal candidate will have the following:

5+ PQE (Western or locally qualified lawyers considered);
Regional experience is essential;
International exposure in their career;
An in-house or top tier law firm background;
A commercial IT/IP background;
Fluency in French and English is a must.
