Job Description

Management:

  • Maintain high levels of employee involvement and productivity by continuously improving staff skills and technical competencies to achieve company objectives.
  • Build and maintain good relationships with all internal and external department customers
  • Ensure individual objectives, training, and development plans are in place for all direct reports.
  • Foster good relationships with banks, financial institutions, and other departments in the company.



Strategic:

  • Coordinate and develop business strategies and plans, defining implementation timetables, assessing risks, and sourcing funds required for delivering proposed plans.
  • Prepare and control budgets; monitor financial performance and conduct financial analysis of actual results versus budgets.
  • Ensure long and short-term plans and budgets are prepared timely and accurately in line with annual budget parameters and timescales.
  • Perform financial analysis of results versus plans and budgets.



Policies, Systems, Processes & Procedures:

  • Direct, review, and implement financial policies, systems, procedures, and controls; monitor internal controls to safeguard company resources and minimize financial risks.
  • Manage and develop reports needed to run the business, improve profit levels, and manage cash flow.
  • Ensure compliance and adherence to BU financial policies and procedures.
  • Communicate policies and procedures effectively.
  • Oversee day-to-day financial operations to ensure work processes comply with established policies, processes, and procedures.



Financial Accounting:

  • Manage accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, collections, cash flow, contracts, fixed assets, reconciliations, taxes, internal financial controls, inter-company transactions, and financial and management reporting.
  • Ensure the completeness, accuracy, and timeliness of all financial transactions, financial information, financial statements, and management reports.
  • Guarantee timely financial reporting (monthly and annually).



Internal Controls and Financial Systems:

  • Implement financial policies and procedures and the company's overall control procedures through leadership of the accounting team.
  • Continuously improve financial systems and practices to ensure best practices and adaptability to business environment changes.
  • Ensure accounting operations are performed according to accepted standards and fully reconciled accounts.



Audit Compliance Management:

  • Maintain adherence to business policies and procedures to ensure audit compliance.
  • Ensure compliance with tax regulations.
  • Aim for audit reports with zero major comments and reduce violation incidents.
  • Prevent risks or claims from taxes or regulatory standards.



Standards & Regulations:

  • Monitor all activities to ensure regulatory compliance and conduct audits and inspections for effective implementation of regulatory standards.



Projects:

  • Plan and supervise the implementation of departmental projects to ensure project parameters (cost, budget, timelines, scope, and quality) are met.
  • Ensure project cycles are completed in line with plans and agreed project parameters and standards.



Organization Structure:

  • Recommend an optimal organization structure for the BU to ensure resources are optimally utilized and communication is efficient.
  • Ensure organization structures are defined, approved, and implemented.



Continuous Improvement:

  • Stimulate subordinates and contribute to the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement of financial systems, processes, and practices, considering international best practices, business process improvements, cost reduction, and productivity enhancement.
  • Implement improvements in line with corporate expectations.



Health, Safety, & Environment:

  • Ensure compliance with all relevant safety and environmental management procedures and controls across the company to guarantee employee safety, legislative compliance, delivery of high-quality products/services, and a responsible environmental attitude.
  • Monitor and reduce the frequency of non-compliance with standards, l ocal legislation, and company policies on health, safety, and environment.

The Successful Applicant

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance with preferably an
  • MBA or equivalent post-graduate qualification from a business/aviation school
  • Any other Professional certificate are preferable.
  • 8-10 years relevant experience in finance and accounting management field including at least 5 years in positions of progressively increasing managerial responsibilities
