Job Description

  • Sourcing Support:
  • Supporting sourcing process by researching/scouting new potential suppliers and collecting preliminary contacts/information.
  • Organizing and performing preliminary assessments for farms and packhouses for potential suppliers, deciding/agreeing suitable corrective actions and following-up on them until effective closure.
  • Collecting, reviewing, and sharing with relevant internal stakeholders the technical documentation (e.g. Certifications, Spraying Plan, Test Reports, etc.) provided by potential suppliers.
  • Coordinating preliminary third-party sampling/testing activities, reviewing and sharing results, providing recommendations as needed.
  • Providing necessary training to external stakeholders (Service Providers and Suppliers) on Company Operations and Quality Standards.



  • Operational Support:
  • Performing directly pre-shipment inspections on Fresh Fruits and Vegetables when applicable and preparing inspection reports when requested.
  • Arranging and managing pre-shipment inspections, sampling, and testing operations with selected external service providers, by providing support as needed.
  • Managing quality issues spotted directly and/or reported by external service providers during packing operations, by deciding/agreeing corrective actions and monitoring their implementation as necessary.
  • Managing daily communication with internal and external stakeholders (Suppliers, Service Providers) by maintaining effective communication flow when planning/processing orders, guaranteeing timely updates on quality issues reported, and providing clear instructions for the implementation of the corrective actions as needed.
  • Maintaining relevant documentation organized and databases updated in Internal System.

The Successful Applicant

Education

Technical degree (e.g. Bachelor / Master) in Agricultural Sciences/Engineering, Food Technology, Nutritional Science or comparable degree.Experience and Job Skills

  • Minimum two years' experience in quality management or production in food industry and/or in retail.
  • Previous experience in managing retail projects involving multiple stakeholders across the Supply Chain is an advantage.
  • Experience in the following food categories: Fruits & Vegetables (Fresh, Dry).
  • Experience in the following food processes: sorting, drying, packing, storing, shipping.
  • Understanding of European food regulations and requirements.
  • Solid background in working on QA/QC issues.
  • Experience with Turkish Producers/Packhouses for Fruit & Vegetables.
  • Experience in supplier management, auditing procedures and implementation of Global GAP, EU Organic, IFS and BRC Standards is an advantage.

Computer Skills

  • Generally good computer application skills.
  • Intermediate/advanced knowledge of MS Office package (Excel, World, Outlook).
  • Ability to quickly adopt new systems as needed.

Language skills

  • Excellent written and spoken English.
  • Proficiency in local language/s.
  • Writing and speaking fluently German is an advantage.
