“GMF´s IADP has been a great opportunity for me to grow both personally and professionally. In just 7 months I have learnt and accomplished a huge amount. During such period, I’ve had the chance to travel, meet people from all over the world and get exposure with GMF’s top executives. Most importantly, I have been able to have a real impact within the company by working with several projects that I have implemented in daily operations, for me this is priceless. However, this would not have been possible without the help and support from my mentor (incredible highlight of the program) and the management team. They truly believe in this program and have offered me their total support from the very beginning.”
Patricia Ribeiro, Brazil (São Paulo)

“The Program gives you the opportunity to interact with different areas and a variety of people in the organization. Our projects are always challenging and highly motivating giving us great exposure to the top executives in the company. All of this is assisted by my HR team and mentor, an executive with great knowledge of the company and the market. Personally I believe that the way the program is designed enables us to have an exponential learning curve, which is what I have always looked to benefit my career.”
Flavio Machado, Brazil (São Paulo)

Finance
Attended: Universidade Federal De Minas Gerais (UFMG)
Degree: Bachelor of Science, Production Engineering

“The IADP experience is ideal for personal development with tremendous learning opportunities and vast possibilities. I was assigned to projects in the Finance Department where skills such as interpersonal savvy, ambiguity handling, project pacing, systemic thinking, communication and peer-relationship have been strongly stretched.
GMF is truly an international company. For instance, I deal almost daily with individuals from the UK, USA, India, Mexico, and others. The IADP community itself spreads throughout the branches and is a great networking environment.
Regarding the day-to-day life, I take part in meetings concerning new system implementation, financial processes, and projects issues. At the moment, there are also tasks such as data analysis, process mapping, and reporting in order to meet specific demands.
The fact that GMF is expanding opens up an array of opportunities for rapid growth and true impact which is nothing but thrilling.”

"Accepting the GM Financial job-offer was by far one of the best decisions I have ever made. My first placement is in Retail MEC (Middle European Cluster), where I perform the job of a project manager. My tasks include problem-solving and optimization in purely retail area, but also intensive work on joint projects with colleagues from compliance, risk, finance, BPI, wholesale and IT. Thus, I’ve been exposed to all major functions and operations within a very short period of time. All the way through I’ve been not only challenged, but also strongly supported by my manager, highly experienced mentor, buddy and a very cooperative HR team who accelerated my integration into the company. And last but not least – this is an environment where I’m able to juggle five languages on daily basis."
Alexandre Leal, Brazil (São Paulo)

Attended: Universidade de Brasília, Aalen’s University
Degree: Bachelor in Management
Languages: Portuguese, English, Spanish and German

"My first IADP placement has been amazing.  As the programmer assigned to work in the Consumer Credit department I am able to develop a holistic view of the area and how it relates to other departments. Every day there is something new to be learnt and I feel that I am really contributing to the achievements of the department. I am constantly exposed to new situations and encouraged to act pro-actively. The empowerment I receive from my managers is a key factor to the success of my projects and the development of a wide set of skills. I’m very much looking forward to the challenges ahead."

"The IADP is an incredible path to personal and professional growth.
The way placements are structured aims at striking the perfect balance between hands on working experience and intensive learning.
Placements are challenging since day one, but you are given all the tools you need to succeed:
  • You are part of a programme that is also a network of professionals at all levels of the organization
  • You are assigned a Mentor on the first placement: having a senior figure who can give you guidance and follows your development
  • In each placement, you will have a buddy (local manager) to refer to for help and heads up
On top of that, across the 3 years the HR ensure continued support through reviews and consulting sessions. You will attend yearly meetings with the other participants from across the globe, conducting self-assessments aimed at your own growth. The opportunity is there, it is up to you to take it."

"The IADP is an awesome programme to start a new career. Our development is highly valued, we have many and valuable trainings, not only on techniques but also on relationships, comportments, self-knowledge and many others.
We are also provided with a mentor, someone senior in the company that guides us through the challenges, allowing us to achieve greater success, so that we have easy access to many senior and key executives in the company, giving us great opportunities for development and networking. I received a very warm welcome from my manager and colleagues who are always enriching me with their experiences and offering me help with my objectives and queries. My objectives are challenging and had a real impact on the company; not only giving me exposure and recognition but helping me develop many new skills and abilities. In addition, we have a unique opportunity to work in 3 to 4 different placements while in the programme."
